As many of you are aware, I frequent facebook daily. For me, not knowing a great many people where I live, I have got to know and meet some of the most beautiful woman I have ever had the pleasure of talking with. And, I have even met a few in person!
Each individual be it man or woman who loves that 'primitive look,' always shares their new finds, new kitchen makeovers, a new color of paint, a new antique, a new doll, some great candles, a new rug; and the list just goes on and on. But I think what makes primitive folk so special is that they love to share their homes. Rarely do I see others doing this.
It is definitely not a bragging contest, but just excitement to be able to spread our love of our home with others. BF (Before Facebook) when I would buy something new, I might call a friend to tell her what I purchased today. But mostly, just enjoy it myself.
So back to my first paragraph, why do we love to shop and buy what seems like frivolous wares to some, such as an old quilt with holes, an old oil can, a wood sign, a make-do bucket, pewter, cabinets, lamps, pumpkins - the list is endless. Why, because it's who we are, we are primitive people who love primitives. And I say embrace that love, share it with the world and rejoice in that special item that you've been looking for for years.
I am including a few pictures of some changes I've made around our home. Many of you already know how much I love change. It's good for the soul. Here are some changes I've made including the living room, my rack for vintage material, my new bin in the kitchen which took the place of the rack, my new dining room table with pineapple legs and just some pictures so you're not too bored with my words.
BTW my pictures trail update www.picturetrail.com/photos/thehollowcupboard will be on Tuesday, November 15th at 7:00 p.m. It is a large update. I plan to travel to Ohio the following Sunday and ship Monday. This, of course, could change if we get snow.
The best and most beautiful things of this world cannot be seen or touched. They must be felt by the heart.
May you wake each day with His blessings, sleep each night in His keeping, And always walk in His tender care.
